Back To The Basics...

Trying to show a process, start to finish may be one of the most interesting things about working in still photography, especially when you get to observe something you do not normally get to do. It is shoots like this that make you want to get right into whatever it is your shooting, sometimes however, these things are better left to the professionals. For now, I am happy to be there with a camera in hand.

Putting The Parts Together...

I recently had the pleasure of producing a great shoot for Advance Auto Parts. We spent a few days looking for the right angles and lighting with our talent in a great garage and an Advance Auto Parts store. I ended up with a few oil stains on my jeans from laying on the garage floor, but sometimes I guess that is just where you need to be. This project was a ton of fun, just waiting to finish up the post production and it will go out the door...

Here Comes the Sun...

A few more portraits from a recent shoot. I think looking at faces tell so many stories in a quick snapshot. In the upcoming weeks I am hoping to concept a couple "test" shoots around the Minneapolis area to try a few new techniques out... February, our shortest month, has been a really great one and some fantastic, creative work has come out of it. Hoping to share some as time allows...

Strolling in South America...

We all have to get ourselves from A to B. Most of the world does it by foot. I have always been interested by the different ways we move ourselves in different ways. On a recent shoot in and around Bogata, Colombia, I had a chance to shoot people in their element. All doing the same things, all with their own style.

Residing in Minneapolis right now makes me realize how excited we all are to be able to walk around town again in a few weeks too...

A Thousand Words...

I always love trying to tell peoples stories with a collection of images. Photographs always prove to evoke emotions in people different than the ones I sometimes envision, part of what makes it so fun!

Room For One More...

Publish PostAlways cool to get proofs back of past jobs. Here is a project shot for Bauer via Olson Co. that should be coming out soon as the hockey season gears up. This was one of those shoots where you keep looking for the right angle, and as soon as you find it, everything just fits into place.

On your mark, get set...

A few selects from a recent portrait shoot in Minneapolis. Ended up being some interesting images in a short amount of time. I am always amazed at how quickly things can come together once you get your lighting and subject right, that's when it really becomes fun.

Some really interesting shoots coming up, looks like a busy month. Looking forward to showing more shoots from the Twin Cities and beyond shortly.
